OLIVIA DANZA

About
As a performer and dancer Olivia was first drawn to yoga as a way to ground and connect to the elements before performing. During a hiatus after a major surgery for a congenital condition in her spine, she studied Pilates intensively as a means to heal, rebuild, and reconnect from the inside out.
She is extremely grateful for the opportunity and can attest to the rehabilitation benefits from her firsthand experience of overcoming her struggle. Olivia holds a comprehensive certification through STOTT Pilates, which includes working with special populations. She has experience and compassion for working with all age ranges, levels, and especially those with injuries and conditions.
From November 2013 through January 2014, Olivia was blessed with the opportunity to train the artists of Cirque Du Soleil's show Amaluna, during their show run in San Francisco.
Olivia also holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Sociology from the University of California, Irvine. She continually studies an eclectic variety of dance forms including modern, contemporary, ballet afro-brazilian, west-african, hip hop, house, jazz, bhangara, capoeira, among other forms. She has performed internationally and furthered her training in Singapore, Mexico, Cuba, New Zealand and Europe with various companies. In addition she has danced with The Dance Monks, Liberation Dance Theater, Paco Gomes, Aguas Da Bahia, Alayo Dance Company, and Duniya Drum and Dance. Olivia is grateful to her early mentors Victor Moreno and Donald McKayle. She believes that life should ultimately always be a journey of adventure, love, and growth and is constantly thankful for the opportunity to help others.
